The Clangers - Roundabouts

The first time I watched the Clangers was on a dark and dingy day in October 2023 at 'The Louisiana' on the bill of a Cellar Door event. I walked up the old stairs, opened the door and was immediately hit with their quirky messy energy. Don't mistake messy for unrehearsed, it's clear this band know what's up.

Their fast paced delivery and hard hitting jams reminded me of seeing the psychedelic porn crumpets back in Austin in a cramped packed out room somewhere in the 2010s. Refreshingly ... they 're upbeat, ignoring the classic Bristol grey and putting some colour back into the monotonous skies.

Their debut track 'Roundabouts' is reminiscent of early Supergrass. Classic British, no fucks given psychedelic punk with a sprinkle of the kings of Psych 'King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard'.

Give them a spin and hold on tight to the roundabout as it spins you round, and round, and round, and round, and round, and round, and round, and round .
