Karma Sheen: The Return of a Down Stokes Favourite

Back in 2023, I was invited to a Club The Mammoth show at The Shacklewell Arms by my friend Elios (Otherside Promotions). Psych rock has always been a huge part of my life—but this was the moment I started to find others who shared the same love for the music that shaped me. What I didn’t know that night was that I was about to witness one of the most electrifying psych rock acts I’ve ever seen: Karma Sheen.
I booked them on the spot for the first year of Down Stokes, asking them to close out the weekend with the debut of what we now call The Late Show.
The Late Show is a special part of the festival. It’s the moment our work is (mostly) done—where we can finally take a breath, grab a pint, and watch a band we truly love. We save a stage that doesn’t usually host psych rock—The Canteen—for an act that’s properly blown us away. Karma Sheen were the first to do that. They set the tone and solidified Down Stokes as a hot new festival.

Karma Sheen aren’t just a band. They’re a live experience: joyful, electric, and deeply moving. Their sound bridges cultural tradition with modern psych innovation. Imagine retro guitar licks and Hendrix flourishes woven through rich traditional instrumentation. And Sameer’s voice? As beautiful as his legendary locks.
We’re so excited to welcome Karma Sheen back to Down Stokes this year. If they’re not on your must-see list yet—upgrade them now.
If you're looking for a gateway into this band then we suggest 'Homecoming' and 'You will Be Loved' - two feel good tracks that act as an entry to the Karma Sheen world.
